Research at the Law School is driven, supported and sustained by its academic staff (associate professors and professors) and doctoral students.
At the institutional level, it is built around three renowned research centers accredited by French assessment agencies: the Legal Research Center (Centre de Recherches Juridiques), the Center for Research on International Security and European Cooperation (Centre d'études sur la Sécurité Internationale et les Coopérations Européennes), and the Center for Research on Diplomacy, Public Administration and Policy (Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche sur la Diplomatie, l'Administration publique et le Politique) in collaboration with Sciences Po Grenoble.

The Graduate School of Legal Sciences (Ecole doctorale Sciences Juridiques) plays an important role for young researchers. Through its training programs and events, it supports and enhances PhD candidates' studies. The activities of the graduate school and research centers cover a wide range of areas in the field of legal studies.

The Law School supports its academic staff and graduate students' research activities. It promotes synergy between teaching and research activities by ensuring that the courses offered reflect the centers' areas of interest
