Master of Banking and Asset Management Law

In the fall of 2026, the Master's degree in Banking Law and Wealth Management will replace the Master's degree in Banking Law and Wealth Management currently offered at the Grenoble Law School.

The Master's degree in Banking Law and Wealth Management is intended for students with a bachelor's degree in law who wish to acquire or deepen their knowledge, primarily legal, in the banking, finance, and wealth management sectors.

In the first year, the master's program includes academic courses organized around fundamental subjects: banking law, property law, tax law, and insurance law. Other subjects allow students to develop their knowledge of the rules governing economic and financial activity. In the second year, the main subjects covered are explored in greater depth with a practical approach designed to promote professional integration. The courses are supplemented by others, such as criminal banking law, financial market regulation, financial analysis, business diagnostics, real estate management, and civil and commercial dispute resolution.

In their first year, students undertake an optional internship related to the courses they are taking. The second year can be completed on a work-study basis through an apprenticeship or professional training contract. Students who are not on a work-study program must complete a mandatory internship.

The skills acquired through the program enable students to pursue careers in legal-focused roles within banks (banking lawyer, compliance officer), specialized law firms (lawyer), wealth management firms (wealth manager, rental manager), or within other private or public companies (legal advisor/wealth manager in accounting firms, notary offices, etc.). Students can also pursue a career as a lawyer. For some, the program may eventually lead to careers in research.
