The principle of alternation :

Work-study programs are a unique training initiative that entails a specific legal status.
They allow students to combine periods of study at the university with periods of work at a company as part of a dual-track training program.
Work-study students have employee status and, as such, the same rights and obligations: a 35-hour workweek, paid leave, attendance requirements, social security coverage, etc.
