DU Environmental Law

This program is open to students and professionals in initial or continuing education. It allows both law and non-law students at the master's level to add specific skills in environmental law to their main curriculum, meeting the growing needs of many sectors of activity at the local, national, and international levels. The courses offered as part of this degree also provide professionals (lawyers, magistrates, elected officials and local government executives, corporate executives, urban planners, architects, etc.) with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in this field and acquire specialized legal expertise that can be directly applied in their work.

The university diploma program covers the fundamentals of environmental law (constitutional, civil, and criminal protection) while highlighting major current environmental issues (combating global warming, protecting biodiversity, corporate environmental responsibility, energy transition, environmental justice, etc.). Environmental law is taught in all its dimensions: public, private, international, European, French, and comparative law.

This program offers 21 thematic modules, most of which last 12 hours. Students in initial or continuing education obtain the university diploma by completing 10 modules of their choice over one or two years. Most modules are offered remotely to accommodate students' constraints, with opportunities for interaction with teachers and remote exams. Several modules are also offered in person. Professionals in continuing education also have the option of validating only certain modules of their choice, depending on their specific needs.
