Who is continuing education for?

With a view to developing skills, it is possible to pursue training or obtain a qualification throughout one's life (FTLV).

If you have already completed your initial education and would like to resume your studies or take a course to expand your knowledge, acquire or strengthen a skill, or even learn a trade, then you can turn to continuing education to achieve your professional goals.

You are considered to be returning to education and eligible for continuing education if you are in one of the following situations:
  • People entering the workforce: private sector employees, public sector employees, job seekers, self-employed professionals, entrepreneurs, etc.
  • More broadly, any adult who has left the school (or university) system and would like to enroll in a training program to achieve their career goals.
  • No one on a professional training contract.
Continuing education is also intended for employers wishing to develop their employees' skills.

Would you like to showcase your professional experience?

There are schemes such as VAE and VAPP.

Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE):
This is an individual right that allows you to obtain all or part of a higher education diploma through the recognition of knowledge and skills acquired through professional and personal experience (Articles R613-32 to R613-37 of the Education Code).
Diplomas are awarded on behalf of the State. They may also be University Diplomas (DU), provided that they are registered with the RNCP (National Directory of Professional Certifications).

Validation of Professional and Personal Experience (VAPP):
This allows individuals who do not have the required qualifications or diplomas to access training by validating their professional experience, training courses taken, and personal achievements.
A VAPP application is only valid for the chosen diploma and academic year.
